UN climate chief Christiana Figueres has stepped down. Climate Depot has an excellent summary of reaction and Figuere’s record on climate.

Some of the opinions she expressed on climate policy drew gasps around the world. Her admiration for dictatorial means of implementing climate policy was chilling and she showed little aptitude for examining the merits of climate science or lending her ear to dissent. Figueres admired China’s ability to set policy without troubling the populace with voting and commended the UN’s “centralized transformation” of the world’s economy in the name of climate policy.
Good riddance to this unbending socialist and her false, failed crusade to control the world.
Who will replace her, or does this resignation mark melting at the ice-cold heart of global warming alarmism?

Good riddance to bad trash. Unfortunately there are many, many more Trotskyites such as Figueres willing to abuse science in order to implement their communist delusions, and they’ll all be lining up for the job. It’s hard to imagine someone worse than her though, but you never know.
Personally I think the entire UN needs to be shut down. When was the last time anyone in a senior UN position wasn’t a raving commie? Being a traitorous, dictatorial socialist is one of the main prerequisites of a UN job.
